Terms and Conditions
Welcome to BarokTech. By using our services, you agree to the following terms regarding payments, renewals, cancellations, website maintenance, and management. We aim to keep this simple, fair, and transparent.
Effective Date: 1st January 2026
1. Website Development Payments
1.1 Initial Payment
To start your website project, a down payment is required, usually 50% of the total design fee, unless otherwise agreed in your contract.
The remaining balance is due once your website is approved and successfully delivered. This ensures your site goes live efficiently and that BarokTech is compensated for our work.
1.2 Content Posting After Delivery
After final payment, BarokTech will post any missing content for up to 3 months at no additional charge. After this period, content updates are billed at our standard hourly rate.
1.3 Revisions After Approval
If design or navigation changes are requested after approval, these changes will be billed at our current hourly rate.
2. Website Development Cancellations
If development work has already started (e.g., design concepts created), the down payment is non-refundable. Partial refunds may be offered at BarokTech’s discretion.
3. Stock Photography
Stock images not provided by the client are billed at a minimum of Birr 1000 per image, separate from the design and development fee. Higher-priced images will be approved by the client before purchase.
4. Ongoing Costs
4.1 Domain Registration
Domain registration gives you exclusive rights to a website name (e.g., www.yourdomain.com) and is renewed annually. You are not required to register through BarokTech but it is highly recommended.
Domain registration fees are non-refundable. Ensure your email is current to avoid renewal issues.
4.2 Hosting
Hosting makes your website accessible online and includes emails, storage, bandwidth, security, and more. Projects with custom programming must be hosted with BarokTech to guarantee proper functionality.
5. Hosting Payments, Renewals, and Transfers
- Renewals: Hosting accounts must be renewed at least one day before the expiration date. Late renewals may incur penalties.
- Cancellations: You can cancel anytime. If cancelled within the first 15 days, you are eligible for a refund (excluding setup fees). After 15 days, all accrued fees and an early cancellation fee of Birr 690 apply. No refunds are given if an account is terminated for violations.
- Transfers: Upon request, BarokTech can provide your site on a CD for Birr 1,380 per copy. FTP access for transfers is not available.
6. Limited 15-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you are not completely satisfied with hosting services within 15 days, we will refund your hosting fee, excluding setup fees.
7. Websites Hosted Elsewhere
If you host your site with another provider, BarokTech cannot guarantee full functionality. We may troubleshoot, but extensive work on external servers will be billed.
8. Website Maintenance
Maintenance is optional beyond domain registration and hosting.
- Updates can be made via a custom CMS or blog.
- Hourly billing applies for work performed after your site goes live.
- Prepaid maintenance plans are available at discounted rates.
8.1 Payment Obligations
Invoices for maintenance are due upon receipt. Payments not received within 30 days may result in temporary removal of changes. After 60 days, a Birr 1,000 reposting fee may be added.
9. Website Management Plans
9.1 Yearly Website Management
BarokTech offers a comprehensive yearly management plan that includes:
- Regular updates and backups
- Security monitoring and patches
- Performance optimization
- Priority support
Payment: Annual payment is required upfront and is billed once per year.
9.2 Monthly Website Management
For clients preferring smaller payments, BarokTech offers monthly management plans, including:
- Routine updates and maintenance
- Basic security monitoring
- Monthly performance reports
- Support via email or phone
Payment: Monthly fee is billed at the start of each month.
Clients can switch between monthly and yearly plans with proper notice.
